Historical Facts

Historical Facts on Lewis House: The Lewis House, originally constructed in the 1840’s, is a sandstone structure with a pyramid-shaped roof. The only structure of its kind in Ohio, it was placed on the Register of Historic Buildings by the Department of the Interior in 1937, and is on file at the Library of Congress. Located in the path of commercial construction, the historic home was destined for destruction. The unique structure was rescued and relocated to the Olde Avon Village, a blend of unique retail and dining establishments.
